A disc brake is a type of brake that uses the calipers to squeeze pairs of pads against a disc or a rotor to create friction to brake.
There are two main types of disc brakes:
① mechanical: which works with cables;
② hydraulic: which replaces the cables with hydraulic fluid in a fully sealed line.
When you brake, the pressure forces the fluid to move into the caliper, pressing the pads against the disc. Normally the bikes with disc brake have a 10 cm width between the front forks. Then D series Lvbu e-bike kit can fit them.
A V brake: the brake by two brake pads is called V brake; Some V brake bikes have narrower forks width which would be 8 cm. Lvbu V series kits can fit the bikes with open size of 8 cm. If the V brake bikes have 10 cm open size, then the D series can also fit them.
